Book #2 from the series: The House Remembers

Whisper Beneath The Floorboard

She was never the curse. She was the key

About

Lena Hearst never believed in ghosts—until the house started whispering her name.

Drawn to a decaying farmhouse, Lena finds more than a family secret. Beneath the floorboards, something stirs—an ancient presence bound by blood, memory, and unfinished rituals. The deeper she digs, the more the house bends around her… and the harder it becomes to leave.

The spiral is calling. The name has been written. And something is waiting to wear her skin.

Some echoes aren’t warnings. They’re invitations.

Praise for this book

The second short story that is a continuation of The House Remember series by Stephanie Tyo. I love the way each chapter built up to the creepy unnerving level of wanting know just what this house wanted from each person that encountered it. The writing was absolutely beautiful. You could almost feel what the house wanted. What it always wanted. I can’t wait to read the next book to follow this one. As always, the author did a great job in crafting this story.

The second part of The House Remembers is captivating. I've said it in all my reviews for Stephanie Tyo, and I'm sorry if it's redundant, but her writing style is ridiculously beautiful. I don't think that I've read a modern short story that was so reminiscent of Edgar Allen Poe. Poetic and Haunting.

This was such a chilling continuation to the series. The way it's written makes you feel like it could happen to you if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. Questioning unknown ties that can't be seen.
